We also have regular workshops, awareness and training programs as a part of our curriculum. We have had a number of workshops for our parents and teachers alike. There had been a “Dance Movement Therapy “workshop, a “Healing through Theatre” and a “De-stressing” workshop for the parents. This has only been a beginning, with a lot more planned and awaiting execution. We also believe that the value of true education is by celebrating relationships in our lives and we do that through our efforts by celebrating special occasions like the Grandparent’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Teacher’s Day, Children’s Day and Community Helpers and Care Giver’s Day.

DSC01694Rabindra Jayanti Celebrations

Usha Martin Dankuni celebrated Rabindranath Thakur’s Birthday along with offering our respect and reverence to our “Bidrohi Kobi” Kazi Nazrul Islam with a handful of songs, dances, recitations.

The Morning session started with the multicolored renderings of the Pre-Primary students. “kothao Amar Harie Jaoar Nei Mana” transported us to a land which was full of flowers, butterflies, the rustling of the leaves, the floating clouds, the raindrops and the roses.

The Primary section remembered Rabindranath Thakur and Nazrul Islam with recitations and the dance-drama. The Poem “Ichamati” by Rabindranath Thakur showed us vividly the longings of a child. This child wants to be a small river that will travel distant lands.

The students of class VI and VII offered their homage to our “Bidrohi Kobi” with the song “Dur Dipobasini, Chini Tomare Chini.”, that echoes the longings for something unknown.
